About Travelissimo – this is our story:
For we’re the men from Sussex, Sussex by the sea,
We plough and mow and reap and sow,
And useful men are we;
And when you go to Sussex, Whoever you may be,
You may tell them all that we stand or fall
For Sussex by the sea!
So say the words of ‘Sussex by the sea’ our county’s anthem.
Truth be told however, I’ve never ploughed, sowed, reaped, or mowed (other than the lawn) in my life! I am however a proud man of Sussex, a proud Brit, a proud European, and a proud citizen of Earth.
To date, my travels have taken me to circa 50 countries, both through leisure and work. I’ve always enjoyed the thrill of travel, meeting new people, and discovering new places. These adventures could be on the other side of the world, or closer to home.
Through these blogs, I’d like to show you some of the great places that I’ve been lucky enough to visit, to try to increase your wanderlust, and to help you have smoother and more enjoyable trips.
The world has so much to offer, and people have differing tastes, so I’ve tried to focus on the things that I prefer in a trip – culture, history, getting off the beaten track, sampling the food and drink, and soaking up the sights and sounds.
Protection of the environment needs to be a concern for us all, therefore, I’ve tried to include a wide selection of stay-cations, as well as some further-flung travels.
I do hope that you’ll find something of interest in these pages, and a few little nuggets that may help you to build some abiding memories.
